Winona Westenskow Darling and Donald LaMar Westenskow were the oldest of six children of Jacob LaMar Westenskow and Merdith Edna Kent.

Just two weeks after Donny, a perfectly healthy baby was born, he developed a high fever that nearly killed him and left him crippled for life. Despite severe challenges, he lived to be 82 years old. He was a wonderful man

Grandpa, Jacob Lamar, wrote the following that's part of a larger history of Grandpa's:
"When (Donny) was two weeks old, he was a very sick baby. The doctor didn't give him any chance to live and said that he had a fever of 107 degrees.
I remember when Dr. Bore came to our house in Imbler to treat him (Donny). He took his temperature and turned kind of an ashy pale. (Bore) said 'Oh, my God.' He thought there was no chance at all to save Donald, but Donald recovered from it and it left him with a serious handicap (crippled).

Donald was about three or four before he could walk. It was a very difficult thin for him to do but he had a lot of courage and he persisted."

Uncle Don went to school, attended some college and also farmed. He often had difficulty talking and it was sometimes hard to understand what he said. He never married but lived with my Grandparents his entire life.
